This is a room-like sofa designed specially for a private home. When I entered the space, where a dining room and a living room are connected by a skip floor with a high ceiling, I could feel free and relaxing air, and sensed that a regular box-shape sofa is not a perfect match for the room. I thought a low profile sofa where you can have lower vision, closer to the floor, would fit better for this space.
First, polygon planes were set in the cozy corner of the room, considering flown lines. Then triangle planes are added against two walls of the corner, in slightly different angles, so the whole appearance would become like a polyhedron. Once downy upholstery is applied, the unit starts presenting a room-like volume. A polyhedron unit, functioning as a piece of furniture/backrest of sofa, is accepting naturally the way you want to make yourself relaxed.
