The furniture planning for the commercial complex, which has a cafe/bar, shop and event space, newly opened on Marunouchi Naka-Dori Avenue, in the neighborhood of JR Yurakucho station and Hibiya subway station.
Taiji Fujimori Atelier designed flexible display units which are easily rearranged when necessary, cafe tables and fixed side tables for the outside of the shop. The display unit is quite instantly made of LSL (Laminated Strand Lumber: flakes of wood that are layered and bonded together) and large diameter PVC pipes. The PVC pipes are cut into a semicircular, and fit into round grooves on both top and bottom sides of the LSL boards.
Surprisingly, this simple assembly made various combinations possible. Not only as shelves, but these units can also be used as benches or counters.
