At first, the design process started from seeking the answer for my question.   “How will it be possible to make a Windsor chair but with minimal parts?”  A basic Windsor chair is composed by a thick wooden seat which is connecting all the parts including legs, spindles, arm posts.  I was going back to the very basics of  a Windsor chair once again.

The design idea was roughly finished when I decided to use the simple structure, a solid wood seat, four supportive legs piercing the seat, and two spindles as a backrest. 
The spindles receiving a load are the only parts going through the seat, then joined to back legs for assuring strength.  A small top rail is attached to fit user’s body nicely. 
This combination of parts is absolutely minimal as a Windsor chair.  “Less” is all the more reason why our Cooper has strong impression.
