Taiji Fujimori Atelier took a part in furniture design of office/conference spaces.
Some of the existing units were upcycled for newly designed units including booth desks, shelves, conference tables with sink and restroom counters. Base material is white birch plywood, and as surface materials, aluminum or stainless sheet and melamine decorative board are applied according to the usage of each furniture. The birch plywood, which is appearing as natural wood material, has good contrast with other materials, and this is how we presented the design concept. Specially, when looking at the office building from outside, the aluminum sheet of the booth desks reflect sunlight and nature blurry, responding and blending with the architecture. On the contrary, inside of the booth becomes a very personal space where you can find the soothing atmosphere of natural wood.
The different materials, which are used inside and outside of the booth, provide a unique gap that users can sense physically.
